Douglas Jones Core 1 My Report Are children
fighting in conflicts around the world today? Yes, more than 50,000 children
are forced to kill in conflicts around the world today. When a war begins
people burn down towns and villages forcing the families that lived there to
flee. While they flee they are a prime targets to be kidnapped. Many conflicts
are happening in the world today. Thousands of children are forced to fight in
conflicts every year. First of all,
why do children get forced to fight in a conflict that they didn’t even start? Thousands
of children have been kidnapped and are being forced to fight today. It is much
cheaper to have children fight than have adults because the youths don’t have
to get paid, because they are under the age of eighteen. This is a terrible
idea because all children deserve to have a childhood. Some kids are younger
than ten and can still pull a trigger on a gun. When the war ends the children
who were fighting only know how to kill, and they want more war so they can
earn money. More
importantly, 20 million people are forced to flee their homes after their
villages were destroyed. When children are fleeing they are extremely vulnerable
to being kidnapped and forced into warfare.
Families also get lost and separated when fleeing from the battlefield.
The lost family members become starved and die from hunger. If the families do
not get separated they are left homeless with no one to help them. All children
deserve to have a place to live and a family to love them. There are many
conflicts happening global wide that children are taking apart of. In Tens of thousands of children are forced to
fight in conflicts today. Kids are kidnapped and required to kill. During a
conflict soldiers burn down villages, making the inhabitants leave and then
become homeless. There are way too many conflicts involving children who are actively
involved. Unfortunately these children are deprived of their childhood and
their family. Something must be done to stop children fighting in combat. Works Cited “Call for Action Emergency Relief” UNICEF http://www.unicef.org/sowc05/english/conflictaction6.html
