| There
were two boys waiting for a ride to the airport. Michael was quietly
enjoyiing the cool and soothing sound of rain dropping on the concrete steps of his house. Nick was steadily holding
the umbrella tightly with his heavy, yet soggy hands. Nick was cold and
wanted to go inside to get out of the rain. Unfortunately, the door was
locked. "I don't like the rain, it sounds like there's a thuderstorm coming," said Nick nervously and briefly. "I know you don't," replied Michael in a calmly matter, "but look, our ride is here." They both started to step into the car. The car took off, and the windshield was covered with dancing droplets. The sound of thunder and the flashes of lightning's frequency grew bigger. "Can you drive a bit faster, John?" Nick asked in a worried look, "We're going to be late for the flight to San Jose." Michael tried to relief him of his stress by saying," Thunder can't hurt you, and lightning can only hurt you if you're wearing metal and that you're on top of a huge building. They arrived at denver International Airport a few minutes later. They started to check-in, get past through security, and start to board the flight, but the plane flight was cancelled because of the rain storm. Nick relieved said, "Now we don't have to fly in the rain." Michael replied gloomly, I wanted to ride in the rain." |
