Meghan was
looking out the window into the pouring rain. The drumming of the little
drops pounding the roof filled her ears. Outside, the palm trees were bending
down so low that it looked like they could snap in half any second.
Behind her, her brother, Michael, was complaining to her mother.
"This rain is so freakin' annoying! I have a match to
train for!"
"Look outside hunny, there might not even be a match
with all this rain” The deep rumble of thunder broke through the sky.
Seconds later, lightening flashed down and made a flash of light in the
darkness of the storm. Meghan could just imagine the freshness of the cool
air outside after the rain had stopped, with the funky smell of the concrete.
The only thing bothering her was that she couldn't go to dance. Since it had
been pouring rain all day, the streets had started to flood and there was absolutely
no way for her to get there. Meghan sat at the window all day, watching the
little hurricane, slowly blow away.
